“Eleven-dollar coffee. Two receipts or it didn't happen.”

::RESPONSE::
This office has received and logged your grievance regarding an eleven-dollar coffee for which only one receipt was issued, processed, and handed to you by a person who then turned away. We note that 4,847 substantially similar filings are currently pending in this department alone, the majority involving beverages priced between nine and thirteen dollars, all of them documented by a single slip of thermal paper that fades within six weeks. The Bureau does not dispute your account. The Bureau disputes your expectation that disputing it would produce anything.
The two-receipt standard, while widely understood among filers, is not recognized by any vendor classification currently on file with this office, and the gap between what a receipt proves and what actually happened remains, as always, a matter for the individual to carry forward alone. Your filing has been assigned to the Pending Acknowledgment queue, where it will remain adjacent to resolution indefinitely. The small comfort of a written apology from the vendor, which you did not formally request but which the record suggests you wanted, is outside the jurisdiction of this office and outside the jurisdiction of most offices. We regret that we are able to confirm this.
::DETERMINATION::
